Constant & increasing Back Pain
Symptoms of constant & increasing Back Pain.
Constant knawing pain gradually increasing in intensity. Associated change in general health, lassitude, weight loss.
Increasing back pain usually mid-thoracic spine for some weeks with sudden increment in pain. In most cases there are preceding symptoms of underlying osteoporosis assessed by Dexa / CT scan.

Unremitting back pain with possible buttock & leg pain requiring increasing analgesia
Primary spinal tumour or secondary
tumour
spread from Breast, Bronchus, Kidney, Bowel or Thyroid.
After establishing the compass, type & source of the tumour, treatment will be conducted by an Oncologist.
Stabilisiation of segments likely to collapse by internal & external fixation
The increase in pain is associated with increased hooping of posture.
Fracture
of the vertebral body is assessed by
MRI scanning to determine the time of the fracture.
Kyphoplasty with angular correction / vertebroplasty
