How many of your colleagues, friends and family walk with a tired upper body stoop? And how many sit slumped at their desks with a rounded back? Bad posture is something almost everyone is guilty of to some degree – but it’s easily corrected, and can do wonders for how you look and feel.

We asked physician Dr. Martin Knight, who heads up the Spinal Foundation, on how to improve our posture.

Martin does recommend seeing a chartered physiotherapist for supervised Muscle Balance Therapy in certain cases, ‘Everybody’s back and posture is different – some need specific sections of the spine to be freed up because they are overworking adjacent segments. These become weakened, and need to be dynamically stabilized.’
