Balloon Kyphoplasty is a minimally invasive procedure designed to stabilise a Vertebral Compression Fracture and help to correct the Vertebral Compression Fracture deformity.
It addresses both the deformity and the pain caused at the fracture site and secondary pain arising from the overstressed levels above and below the fracture. It also achieves early mobilisation, improvement in quality of life and activities of daily living. The reported complication rate is low
It is indicated for:
- Primary osteoporosis
- Secondary osteoporosis
- Osteolytic (bone destroying) lesions such as cancer deposits or multiple myeloma.
